Survey Party Chief

CFA, Inc. is a Northern Nevada Land Surveying, Civil Engineering and Land Use Planning firm that has been in business since 1981 who is seeking a skilled Survey Party Chief with a diverse skill set and knowledge of the industry. This position is responsible for using survey instruments to collect appropriate data and ensure that surveying data is collected and recorded accurately. The Survey Party Chief reads blueprints, plats, maps, site plans, deeds, legal documents, and field notes.

The ideal qualified candidate will have the following skills and experience

:

  • At least five (5) years of field survey experience including, but not limited to: ALTA/NSPS, boundary, topographic and construction staking surveys. Minimum 2-years of Party Chief Experience.
  • Prior experience with Trimble hardware and software, preferred.
  • Prior experience with UAS aerial surveying & mapping, preferred.
  • Experienced in the use of Robotic, GPS and differential leveling equipment.  
  • Knowledgeable of field data collection procedures of boundary evidence, project improvements, utilities, etc.
  • Ability to inspect, measure, and document underground utility facilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of inherent errors and error propagation in different types of equipment and utilizing that knowledge to select the “right tool for the job”
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a 2-person survey crew.
  • Ability to check and reduce raw field data, perform calculations, and download/file survey data.
  • Excellent communication abilities between client/contractors and office personnel.

Certifications

  • Valid driver license with clean driving record.
  • Current MSHA Part 46 certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Current certification as FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot or willingness to obtain.
