Field Survey Technician

CFA, Inc. is a Northern Nevada Land Surveying, Civil Engineering and Land Use Planning firm that has been in business since 1981 who is seeking a Field Survey Technician with a diverse skill set and knowledge of the industry. This position is responsible for assisting the Survey Party Chief in field data collection and survey construction staking. Excellent opportunity for someone considering a career in the land surveying profession.


Qualifications:


  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Good mathematical, analytical & organizational skills.
  • Responsible and safety conscious.
  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience in land surveying including the use of robotic, GPS and differential leveling equipment, but we are willing to provide training for the right candidate(s).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization and stock of truck, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist Survey Party Chief in collection of survey data and staking on projects that include, but are not limited to: boundary surveys, control surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and construction staking surveys.
  • Attention to detail and ability to take direction from Survey Party Chief and other management staff as directed.
  • Occasional travel involving overnight stays.

Working Conditions:

  • Requires general good health & fitness. Ability to lift 50+ pounds, perform strenuous labor, use of hand & power tools, work outdoors in all weather conditions.  Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, and walking on uneven terrain.  Working in remote areas and busy construction sites.
