The LEED Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for design, construction and operation of green buildings. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality. This comprehensive approach is the reason LEED-certified buildings have lower operating costs, healthier and more productive occupants, and less impact to natural resources. The LEED System was created to promote sustainability by providing the building industry with consistent, credible standards for what constitutes a green building. Holst joined CFA, Inc. in 1990 and has served as an associate since 1996. His areas of expertise include storm water hydrology, storm drain systems, detention ponds, water systems and sanitary sewer systems. As senior project manager, Holst is responsible for the engineering, design supervision and management of a broad range of projects from conception through final design, including agency approvals and construction. He is a registered PE in Nevada and California and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers and the American Water Works Association. Holst’s project history includes: The Summit Sierra, ArrowCreek, Mt. Rose Station, Skylawn Memorial Park and Village at Double Diamond. As a LEED Accredited Professional, he will be a valuable asset to any team pursuing green design and construction strategies.
