The Regional Transportation Commission contracted with CFA to provide the design and construction administration for pedestrian improvements along Plumas Street between Moana Lane and Morningside Drive. CFA collected existing condition survey data on each 25-foot segment of curb, gutter and sidewalk along Plumas and evaluated existing bus stops, crosswalks, sidewalks, pedestrian ramps and driveway aprons for compliance with ADA standards. In addition, CFA located all overhead and subsurface utilities within the roadway right-of-way to evaluate potential conflict and resolution strategies. CFA prepared topographic survey, preliminary and final civil engineering design, bidding services and construction inspection services. We teamed with Black Eagle Consulting, Inc. for geotechnical evaluation of the sidewalk subgrate conditions and materials during construction. The project was completed in 2014.
