We specialize in urban and watershed rainfall/runoff studies, flood frequency calculations, alluvial fan hydrology, floodplain analysis, stream restoration, and erosion mitigation, as well as a variety of hydrologic permitting services.

From stormwater runoff to erosion issues, CFA has the ability to provide our clients with a comprehensive drainage analysis and design. Before you plan your next project, give us a call to evaluate your hydrology issues. Let us put our expertise to work for you to help identify economical solutions which will prevent future property damage and ultimately protect your investment.

Hydrologic Services

  • Urban and watershed rainfall/runoff studies, using computer simulation models HEC-1, HEC-HMS, TR-55, or Rational Method.
  • Flood frequency calculations and statistical analysis utilizing the latest USGS gauge data and software.
  • Alluvial fan hydrology and mapping of flood hazard areas in accordance with FEMA guidelines.
  • Master drainage studies identifying key drainage issues affecting the property and providing economical, code-compliant solutions.

Hydraulic Engineering Services

  • Floodplain analysis and mapping, including flood profile calculations, bridge and culvert modeling, split flow and diversions utilizing HEC-RAS under both steady and unsteady flow conditions.
  • Channel, storm drain, detention pond and culvert design, using Haestad Methods computer programs FlowMaster, StormCAD, PondPack, and CulvertMaster.
  • Sediment transport calculations and stable channel design including armoring and dissipation structures.
  • Stream restoration, including the reconstruction of natural floodplains and wetlands.
  • Erosion mitigation plans, including the development of Best Management Practices (BMPs) for the control of erosion during construction.

Hydrologic Permitting Services

  • Floodplain mapping, preparation, submittal, and processing of Letters of Map Revision (CLOMR and LOMR) to FEMA.
  • Waters of the US permitting, including coordination of delineation, mitigation, submittal, and processing through the US Army Corps of Engineers.
  • Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), including preparation, submittal, and processing through the appropriate governmental agencies.
